Ahtlete Development Overview

Athlete training and development is led by John Thomas, a former professional pitcher with an outstanding baseball background. John grew up playing locally for Northside Little League, Santa Maria Babe Ruth, the Santa Maria Indians, and the Santa Maria Stars before becoming an All-State and All-American athlete for Ernest Righetti High School. He later represented Team USA Baseball and was drafted out of high school in the second round by the San Francisco Giants.

He went on to play seven professional seasons with the Giants, Twins, and Padres organizations, earning multiple honors along the way—including the prestigious Giant in the Community Award, recognizing his impact and service in the community while with the Giants.

John is also a proud member of the Ernest Righetti High School Hall of Fame for both baseball and basketball. His experience, leadership, and commitment to developing young athletes form the core of our pitching program.
